Born in the teeth of harsh Nordic winters and shaped by relentless sea winds.
Our founders watched neighbors abandon their outdoor spaces for eight months of the year, retreating indoors at the first sign of bad weather. They refused to accept that nature should dictate when and how people enjoy their own properties.
The landscape of product design mirrored these unforgiving Nordic conditions. High-production costs, long-waiting times, and complex installation processes were keeping homeowners in exile indoors. They refused to let industry resistance limit outdoor living.
Our founders spent nearly a decade each working in the custom pergola market at other brands. Deep understanding of design and customer desires remain the foundation fueling our spirit of innovation.
In 2020, the global COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the landscape. Everyone was spending more time at home, desperately seeking ways to transform their spaces into sanctuaries. It was no longer just about weather resistance. It was about space creation itself. Our founders joined together to launch a pergola brand committed to helping homeowners claim authorship and control over their space, granting them the ability to make space for more moments that matter.
Meet the founders and leaders shaping the future of our company.
Tim Heneveld is Director of PERGOLUX North America, overseeing the brand’s market expansion in the United States and Canada. Heneveld holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and manufacturing engineering from Oregon State University. Before joining PERGOLUX, he spent over a decade building and leading end-to-end business operations in construction and manufacturing-adjacent industries. His experience now guides teams focused on helping North American homeowners invest in high-quality outdoor living solutions across diverse climates and home environments.
Johannes Lauchenauer is the co-founder and CEO of PERGOLUX. He brings a background in entrepreneurship, innovation, and technical sciences, with experience scaling early-stage companies into international operations. Lauchenauer holds an MBA with honors for research on growing online businesses and has completed additional studies in innovation and leadership at Stanford University and Harvard Business School. His approach centers on transparency, practical problem-solving, and building strong teams to support PERGOLUX’s continued product and customer experience innovation.
Henrik Johannessen is the Product Development Manager at PERGOLUX. He spent years leading his own design-focused business developing practical expertise in materials, construction, and user-centered outdoor solutions. Now, he oversees product development from concept to execution, working closely with international teams to refine engineering and customer usability across the pergola system. His hands-on approach and long-standing design background help guide the company’s continued evolution of high-quality, easy-to-assemble outdoor products.
Robin René Lindberg is the Head of eCommerce at PERGOLUX, where he oversees digital strategy, online operations, and the end-to-end customer experience across international markets. He previously led the company’s marketing team during global growth and expansion. Lindberg’s background includes experience as a project leader implementing Lean planning methodologies and work in brand identity and digital design. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and has completed executive leadership training at Harvard Business School.
